A Calming Nursery Suite
Posted on November 13, 2013
I can’t believe that our little girl will be here before you know it. At 38 weeks pregnant 1cm dilated, 90% effaced she can come any day now…and I’m hoping she does, the anticipation is killing me. Over the last couple of weeks we have been keeping ourselves very busy by getting everything ready for her and I’m excited to say we are done with the nursery!
Since we have a very a large master suite we decided to convert our sitting area into her nursery. The crib and glider were still in perfect condition from Buddy so of course it only made sense to use it for her. I wanted to keep the color palette very neutral so we didm’t feel like we were sleeping at Gymboree. We didm’t want to do too much so a few accessories was all that was needed.
Our changing table we used for Buds was too large for the space so we found this Badger Basket Company Estate Changing Table amazon and it works perfectly with the furniture.
I love this Capiz Pendant from West Elm. I knew I wanted some focal lighting but wasn’t completely sold on going glitz so when I found this I knew it was perfect. Plus when the fan blows the capiz shells act as a music chime.
We were still able to still use Buddy’s moses basket we purchased from RH Baby & Child and just changed out the bedding to this beautiful european vintage-washed diamond matelasé.
These shelves came from Target and is a ideal place to display my vintage Lolli Doll that I snuggled with as a child, a beautiful faux floral arrangement, my incredible fab Baby Shower invitation and the lion finger puppet Daddy thought she needed, lol.

In the midst of decorating the nursery Mommy and Daddy decided to switch out our bedding to compliment hers (we needed a treat too, lol). The Hubs wanted something with a pattern and my only requirement was that it had to be light. We picked this up from West Elm which is now on sale; I hate when that happens. To make the room a little plush we moved the sofa from the our loft to the foot of the bed added a side table and tons of pillows. It is such relaxing space and I actually hang out more in my room than I ever have.
Well, that’s a look at our little girl’s suite. For the parents out there did you any of you have your nursery in the your room? If so, how did you incorporate that into your decor and most importantly how much sleep did you get, lol.
Until Next Time…
